Tampa Bay Area Chiefs of Police Association
The Tampa Bay Area Chiefs of Police Association has involved itself in many worthwhile projects. Some of these are the scholarships that we award every year to deserving students who plan to go into law enforcement or to officers who are already making law enforcement a career.
We also have at least four training seminars a year, one of which is the annual Law Enforcement Seminar which is sponsored by Stetson University of Law. The TBACP also conducts a golf tournament every year and donates the profits to the Florida Police Chiefs Association. Another of our endeavors is our annual Secretary's Day where we treat the people who keep us organized throughout the year to a luncheon and entertainment.
Recognizing the need to train officers who someday hope to be Chiefs of Police we have started to plan what we hope might become an annual event to train and give advice to those who are inclined to lead. A leader can only be as good as those who follow so we feel that by training these officers we also help ourselves.
